The theme of International Women's Day for 2025 is "March Forward" ➡️ There's never been a more pressing time for us to come together to advocate for the rights of all womxn, particularly those who are most impacted by the shifting political landscape around the world. Yesterday, at the first-ever More Voices, More Representation in-person event at UTS Business School, we came together to do just that. Led by our wonderful MC Tiff Ng, the event was filled with insightful, thought-provoking stories and opinions about the past and future of DEI in our country. Rowena Welsh - Jarrett shared her incredible research on Aboriginal women’s role in the early development of the modern economy in Sydney, and the journey of First Nations communities as the pioneers in driving discussions around diversity and inclusion in Australia. From there, our panel of advocates and experts including Neha M., Prabha Nandagopal, Niti Nadarajah, Lisa Sarago, and Nareen Young, led by our seasoned moderator Brenda Gaddi, reflected on recent attacks on DEI and the importance of coming together to ensure that all voices, especially those of intersectional womxn, remain heard in our society. In a climate where it might feel easier to close our eyes and tune out the noise, the feeling in the room was one of shared determination to continue to 'march forward' for our rights. Thank you to our event corporate sponsors UTS Business School and Pureprofile as well as all of our passionate campaign partners who helped bring the event together. A special mention to Solai Valliappan! If you want to continue to follow our discussions on the future of DEI, please join us for our online event next Wednesday, Feb 26th where we will explore "DEI 2.0: How 'Equality' is Shifting in 2025" with a whole new group of prominent womxn advocating for intersectional voices to be heard. 🎟️ Register here: https://lnkd.in/g_6q6Tmp #MoreVoicesIWD #MoreVoicesMoreRepresentation #DEI
