I ended up managing the entire project myself, despite having trained and guided him with detailed instructions. The takeaway? Living up to one’s words is crucial. I'd like to promote them into jobs that don't exist today". Me- Hang on. Did you say 4?! This "promoting-you-into-a-job-that-doesn't-exist-today" seriously happened to 5 employees in like 30 minutes?! So, so, so very awesome. I guess I'm saying happy Friday and OBE is awesome. *Gushing team shout out incoming* When I started looking for a first role in adland, universally interviewers would ask - "Who would your dream client be?" Fast forward to 2024, and whilst I still have a list of clients and creators I'd love to support - company culture has increasingly become a much bigger motivation. Choosing where to work needs to be so much more than a roster of brands and a big part of launching Supernova was about creating a space where people feel valued and excited to explore new ideas and initiatives. Therefore, with all of this in mind, I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Bea Greenwood, Matthew Ferguson & Sam Isaacs - who have taken it upon themselves to make life at Atomic London a little bit special. Beyond being three wonderful human beings and excellent at what they do, they also play a huge role in ensuring we collectively take the time to share, learn and celebrate our mutual successes: - Tea at Three, chewing the industry fat with biscuits in hand - Thursday Feasts, exploring some of Farringdon's best eateries - Plus the occasional 'big day out' (so excited for the summer party!) ...you guys rock! So, if you're on the hunt for a first role in adland or simply looking for a change of scene, by all means have a list of dream clients. I’ve always believed a job could be more than a job. And that each move could be a move toward gradually building something uniquely valuable. So, with that in mind, I have an announcement. From advertising to PR, tech startups to studios, each project has allowed me to see the broader picture. As I look back, I realize there’s value in the seemingly disparate creative challenges. Each one gradually forms your own unique creative profile, if you let them. Joining Pennant Video feels like a natural culmination of that journey, an opportunity to not only guide creative vision but to partner with a team that aligns with my passion for pushing boundaries and exploring new creative territories. So I was contacted by a Very Important Company Person, to the tune of "I'd like to promote two employees into Roles That Don't Exist Today. Any chance those letters can be done today?" Yes. Absolutely yes. Two things: 1) You don't need to ask 50 people to get stuff done here at OBE. You are actually empowered to do your job, and make decisions, and that's awesome. 2) How cool is it that these two employees get this news on New Year's Eve?!?
