Last year has been a powerful teacher: Plans often go awry. People rarely act as you hope they will. Opportunities don’t always come when you need them most. Situations are often more complex than they seem. Life will never be as orderly as you’d like. Yet, despite the challenges: You’ll endure the pain and still stand strong. You may face losses but find ways to thrive. You’ll wrestle with anxiety but learn patience in the process. You may feel broken, but you’ll maintain your composure. Through it all: You’ll continue to work. You’ll keep on living. You’ll still smile. You’ll keep hoping. This year revealed to me: I am strong, even when my emotions leave scars. I am good, even with wounds that refuse to heal. I am hopeful, though my patience sometimes wears thin. I am calm, even when I occasionally lose control. Time passes, and still, we live, love, and laugh. Years change, yet we persist—fighting, surviving, and inspiring.

That day I felt devastated. Hi LinkedIn Community, There was this one course in university that challenged me like no other, up until then every subject or course I studied was a familiar terrain, I could easily wiggle myself out of sticky situations but not with Mr. Russian. I had no idea how to navigate it. The course involved an entirely different alphabet that I needed to learn. There was this one day that I was tired, exhausted actually but I dragged myself to class, only to find that test results were being handed out. When I saw my score, I felt completely dejected. I had never failed so badly in my life. I was hurt, annoyed, disappointed, and angry—angry because this course made me feel helpless and out of my depth. I felt like giving up but I refused to let a failed ambition limit my view of my potential. I share this story to illustrate something about fear. Fear is a mechanism that can paralyze us, as it did for me before this course even began. It clouds judgment, hinders execution, and holds us back. So instead of remaining paralyzed push through the grip of fear. Secondly Fear also tries to protect us—from embarrassment, from failure—but this only happens when there’s inadequate preparation or a knowledge deficit. Once we fill in those gaps, fear loses its power over us. Now it's your turn, was there ever a time where you struggled with fear how did you overcome? Share to encourage another. Thank you for staying till day 3! And don't forget to never let fear rule you✨ #OvercomingFear #FailureToSuccess #PersonalGrowth #LearningJourney #StayResilient #Fearless #Day3

🤯 Awestruck by the Boundless Potential Within Us! The future is ours to shape, one curious step at a time. 🚀 Have you ever observed a child tackle a task that seems beyond their reach? The way they approach it with pure, unabashed curiosity, unhindered by self-doubt or preconceived notions of what they "can" or "cannot" do. 🧠✨ Just the other day, I witnessed my 2-year-old son eagerly wanting to ride a bicycle with his friend on the back seat. At that age, most would deem such an endeavor too risky or simply "not meant for them." Yet, my son's eyes sparkled with excitement, his mind brimming with the possibility of conquering this new challenge. 🚲👦 This childlike wonder and fearlessness to explore the unknown is a truly remarkable trait we often lose as we grow older. But what if we could rekindle that sense of awe and keep expanding our boundaries, learning, and growing, no matter our age or circumstances? 🌍🌟 The potential within each of us is boundless, waiting to be unleashed. Let us take a cue from our little ones and approach life with that same unwavering curiosity and determination to push past perceived limitations. 🤩 Who knows what amazing feats we might accomplish when we refuse to be bogged down by self-imposed boundaries! Embrace the spirit of a child – let's keep learning, exploring, and reaching for the stars. The journey ahead is sure to be awe-inspiring. 🌌🚀 #ChildlikeWonder #GrowthMindset #UnboundedPotential 🚲

The Power of Perseverance Have you ever faced a situation in your life that seemed impossible to overcome, no matter how much effort you put in? Let me share a story that might resonate with you. A few years ago, I was juggling a demanding job, family responsibilities, and pursuing further education. It felt like every day was a battle to stay afloat. The pressure of balancing work, family, and studies was overwhelming, and I was on the verge of giving up on my educational pursuits. Lesson: But then, I remembered something I heard from a mentor: "Don’t give up when things aren’t working. Every setback is a setup for a comeback." I decided to persevere, manage my time better, and seek support from my family. Eventually, I not only completed my course but also found a new sense of balance and fulfillment in my life. The experience taught me the power of perseverance. When you feel like giving up, remember that persistence often leads to breakthroughs. Stay tuned for the next part of my series where I talk about the danger of comparisons.

Patience is not always the solution. Sometimes, it is merely a delaying tactic, a temporary reprieve from the inevitable. For in the stillness of patience, we may be merely prolonging our stay in a place that no longer serves us. It is in the boldness of action, the courage to pivot, that we find true progress. Changing our direction, altering our trajectory, is often the only way to break free from the stagnation of patience. It is in the decisive step, the deliberate turn, that we discover new paths, new possibilities, and new promise. For patience, without purpose, is merely a passive acceptance of the status quo. But direction, with determination, is a powerful catalyst for change. #Linkedin #passion #university #professor #students

Yesterday, I helped my daughter map out her quizzes and exams for the semester. When she saw everything laid out, she felt completely overwhelmed. Honestly? So did I. But I reminded her: “You can’t say that. You have to say, ‘I’ve got this’ and ‘I can do this.’” It got me thinking about the energy behind our words. Saying “I’m overwhelmed” feels heavy. Saying “I’ve got this” feels powerful. One drains your energy. The other fuels it. That’s why movement matters so much. Motion creates e-motion. After a good walk, that sense of overwhelm tends to disappear or at least be smaller. The energy we bring into the room—and the energy we leave behind—makes all the difference. What we say to ourselves shapes that energy. It’s the same when we choose a job versus pursuing a passion. Your energy changes when you’re doing something you truly love. That energy creates momentum. Momentum creates success. Fear is the smallest room in the house. Don’t live there. ----- P.S. If you’re stuck choosing between a job and your passion, let’s talk. I can help you create a plan. Let’s get started—are you ready? https://lnkd.in/ed6dBsuM

🎓 Resilience in the Face of Uncertainty 🎓 "The moment you're ready to quit is usually the moment right before the miracle happens. Don’t give up." Graduating with my PhD marked a profound achievement, the culmination of countless hours of work, sleepless nights, and sacrifices. Yet here I am, still waiting for the door into academia to open. As time ticks by, the weight of this waiting can feel daunting. It’s easy to grow weary, to wonder if all that effort was in vain. Frustration is real, but bitterness has no place here. Instead, I choose resilience. Proverbs 23:18 says, “Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” This verse reminds me that even though the journey may seem uncertain, there is a promise of fulfillment that we can hold onto. Staying hopeful isn’t passive; it requires strength, tenacity, and an unwavering belief in our purpose. To anyone else on this path, let’s keep pushing forward, trusting that each step, no matter how small or slow, is a step toward what we’re meant to achieve. Stay the course. #Resilience #PhDJourney #NeverGiveUp #HopefulHeart #AcademicDreams #Proverbs2318 #StayTheCourse #TrustTheProcess #FrustratedButNotBitter #FaithAndPersistence #FutureIsBright #BelieveInYourself

You are strong (part 2) Someone must have declared this “math week.” Yesterday I told you about my adventures in calculus and before that, about a recent student who overcame many obstacles, including her own self-doubt, fear of numbers, and imposter syndrome. She had strength, more than she might have realized. Today is a good day to start your own strengths inventory. What are you good at? Don't be humble. What are you good at? Any ideas immediately come to mind? Write them down! This can seem like a tough task, and there are many ways to build your list, including: - Do you have hobbies? What do those hobbies involve? This means you have skills and knowledge that others might not have and can almost certainly be applied to work and other parts of life. - Whether at work or at home, what do people ask you to do? This means people know you can help them, they think you're good at it. Take that compliment, accept it, embrace it, and look for more. - What would you like to be good at, wish you were good at? Like yesterday, sometimes you just have to tell yourself that you can and then dive in. Learn. Grow. You don’t have to be the best at these things, you just have to be able to do them well enough to be helpful, to have people trust in you to do these things. Share this with someone who needs to see it. See you tomorrow. #strong #strengths #believeinyourself #change #teacher #believe #permission #impostersyndrome
