As part of the People and Place Programme, SPT funded Sustrans to deliver the Big Walk and Wheel 2025, a challenge designed to encourage pupils across the UK to make active journeys to school, improve air quality in their community and discover how these changes benefit not only themselves, but the wider world. SPT want to give a huge shout out to all the schools across the SPT region that have completed the challenge this year. Sustrans have advised that 179 schools from across the region have participated, and we can’t wait to see the results as they come through for the numbers of children walking, wheeling, and cycling to school.
