The City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, is building a new community center. This 25,000-square-foot building will include a gym, fitness rooms, and an outdoor plaza, among others, as well as improvements to an existing six-acre park. As part of the project, an underground stormwater management solution was required. See photos below of the large 6’-0” DoubleTrap basin designed in consideration of limited space on-site. After a rain event, the vault is drained through a connection to a wetwell and lift station that pumps the water out of the basin. The system was installed in just two days and manages 36,783 cubic feet of stormwater.
