Health nugget on hand washing Regular washing of hands is very important to stay healthy. Why do we wash our hands: You protects yourself and others: Our hands come into contact with countless surfaces throughout the day, picking up germs that can cause illness. By keeping your hands clean, you protect yourself from getting sick and also prevent the spread of germs to your family, friends, and community. When should we wash our hands: 1. Before, during, and after preparing food. 2. Before eating. 3. After using the toilet 4. After touching animals or handling animal waste. 5. When your hands are physically dirty as a result of work. 6. After cleaning the house or discarding your waste. Steps involves in washing of hands Wet your hands, use soap and not detergent preferably liquid soap, rub your hands together vigorously for at least 20 seconds, making sure to clean between your fingers, under your nails, and the backs of your hands under a clean and running water and allow the hands to dry. When soap and water aren't available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol). Health is wealth. #Personalhygiene, #Handhygiene, #Handwashing,
