For those of you who know Denise Ruffner, particularly those in the #quantumcomputing world or #ibm, she recently lost her home in the California fires and needs our support. If you'd like to help, see Jessica Richman post below where she started a #gofundme page and join me in contributing!
As many of you know, Denise Ruffner, a stalwart member of the quantum community, and her husband Tom Ruffner suffered an immense loss when their home in Altadena burned down. Denise Ruffner has been a great friend and a very important positive influence over the past few years as I have further developed my interest and network in the quantum industry. I know she has also had a major impact on others in this field as well. If you are interested in supporting Denise Ruffner and Tom Ruffner through this difficult time, please consider donating to the GoFundMe I created on their behalf which is listed in the comments: Thank You. This December marks my second year participating in the 100-Mile Run Challenge to support Stop Soldier Suicide! Please consider sharing or donating to this important cause if you’re able. Want to make a difference this #GivingTuesday? I'm raising money for Stop Soldier Suicide, and your donation—whether $5 or $500—can have a real impact. Every contribution helps. Thank you for your generosity! Stop Soldier Suicide is dedicated to reducing veteran suicide rates to match civilian levels by 2030. They aim to achieve this goal through strategic partnerships, innovative suicide assessment tools, and a groundbreaking high-touch, high-frequency case management model—unmatched in the veteran services field. As the only organization in the nation with the strategy and momentum to tackle veteran suicide at a systemic level, they are leading the charge for change. https://lnkd.in/eSakZvzy?

Just got word from our friends at Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation that the second D-Day flag we donated to them was auctioned for $4,200.00. Almost halfway to our goal of 100K of Good for others! #militaryohana #soffamily TFD - Mission - Purpose - Focus - https://lnkd.in/eMhHbG8E “Humans are more important than hardware. People – not equipment – make the critical difference. The right people, highly trained and working as a team, will accomplish the mission with the equipment available. On the other hand, the best equipment in the world cannot compensate for a lack of the right people.” (SOF Truths) At the heart of Task Force Dagger are our PEOPLE – they are the lifeblood of our organization. The families we support, along with our staff, volunteers, and donors, are what collectively drives everything we do as a Foundation. Working together and synchronized on the same mission, we can continue to make and outsized impact the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community. Through our own personal experience as special operators, family members, and supporters, we recognize that all of our people (from the SOF community we support and within our organization) need three key elements within their lives – Mission, Purpose, and Focus.

Please join me and my colleagues in helping unlock a $50k matching gift on #GivingTuesday for the incredible organization I work for: (IAALS) Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System. A gift today doubles your impact to help make our civil justice system more just. https://lnkd.in/gpnhz-UG Read more below to see exactly why the work that we do is so critical and urgent.... DID YOU KNOW? 66% of Americans experienced at least one legal problem over the last four years; 70% of civil and family cases include at least one side without a lawyer; and 120 MILLION legal problems do not reach a fair resolution each year? WHY? Up and down the income scale, people's legal needs are going unmet because systems created hundreds of years ago are in dire need of evolution. The status quo is rigid, inaccessible, slow, and costly—and doesn’t account for the complex realities that people face on a daily basis. THE SOLUTION? At IAALS, we do things differently than anyone else—and that’s the secret to our success. Our unique approach allows us to make systemic change in courts and legal institutions across the country. When innovation is rooted in finding common ground, questioning the status quo, and centering the people, we begin to craft solutions that transform our civil justice system. At IAALS, justice for all is more than a rallying cry – it’s our promise. HOW CAN YOU HELP? With your support, together, we can fulfill the promise of justice for all today, and solidify it for generations to come. But justice for all will never be a reality for all if those seeking justice cannot access the system designed to deliver it. Please make a donation today to help clear a path to justice for everyone. https://lnkd.in/gmUTPSpX... (*You will be directed to the University of Denver donation page, with IAALS selected as the fund. Although we are part of DU, we are independently funded and all donations support IAALS' work directly.) Brittany Kauffman Amy Livingston Kirk Jones Zachary Willis Julia Curry Logan Cornett Michael Houlberg Jessica Bednarz Danielle Kalil Amy Downing Jonna Perlinger Ericka Byram (Welsh) James Swearingen
Help IAALS create a world where EVERYONE has a clear path to justice and double your impact today: all donations will be matched by a group of generous donors, up to $50k! Give here to help make our civil justice system more just: https://lnkd.in/gsQ2vAmS #GivingTuesday

KBS and Transwestern recently partnered for the ninth year to support Wreaths Across America – a nonprofit that honors fallen U.S. soldiers by organizing wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad. KBS and Transwestern held their annual fundraising campaign across 10 KBS-owned properties where Transwestern provides property management services, raising funds to purchase 2,937 wreaths. On National Wreaths Across America Day, December 14, volunteers from both companies joined others at Arlington National Cemetery and sites to place balsam wreaths on veterans’ headstones in a tribute of respect and remembrance.
