If you’re interested in economically sound, evidence-based, family-centred early learning and parenting support programs, it’s worth checking out the Impact Report Playgroup NSW has just released for its review of the Sutherland Supported Playgroup. Sutherland Supported Playgroup has been serving the community for almost 15 years. Supported by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice through the Targeted Earlier Intervention program, Sutherland Supported Playgroup works to strengthen family capacity, connect vulnerable families to useful help, and build networks of support that can help families navigate challenging times together. In 2022/23 alone, Sutherland Supported Playgroup served 126 children and their families, contributing to: ✅ Attainment of age-appropriate #ChildDevelopment milestones and early identification of developmental support needs. ✅ Strengthened #SocialInclusion, #CommunityCohesion, #CommunityParticipation and connection for children and families. ✅ Enhanced skills, confidence and empowerment for parents and caregivers, reinforced by durable networks of peer support. Children thrive when their families are well supported, resourced and connected within caring communities. The best form of child protection is family support, and every dollar invested in family strengthening saves a hundred in intensive out of home care services. As the Impact Report demonstrates, Supported Playgroups are an efficient and effective way of mobilising those supports in ways that create lifelong impact. 🌟 3 Months of Impact: My Life My Choice 🌟 My Life My Choice believe people with learning disabilities should have choice and control over their lives. The 2024 grant from the Didcot Powerhouse Fund was to fund establishing a self-advocacy group to meet the needs of Didcot residents who have a learning disability. This is the impact that has already been achieved in the first 3 months of the group that now meet every month: 🔹 Attendance – growing to 12 attendees, making it one of the most popular groups. 🔹 Paid Work – Members are co-facilitating sessions and earning for their roles. 🔹 Community Links – Partnering with Terrence Higgins Trust & SOFEA for workshops on health, independence, and work skills. 🔹 Friendships – Members are connecting outside the group, reducing loneliness. 🔹 Building Confidence – Once-quiet members are now contributing, thanks to workshops on voting, relationships, and travel skills. 📅 When: 3rd Friday of each month, 3-5pm 📍 Where: All Saints Youth and Community Hall, Didcot Open to adults with learning disabilities—new members always welcome! "I’ve made lots of friends!" – D.D., group member Supporting projects that transform lives in Didcot! 🙌 #CommunityImpact #PowerhouseEffect #Inclusion #Didcot

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” We are thrilled to share the success of our collaboration with the NJ4S Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Hub. Through this partnership, we are empowering partner organizations to provide critical grief support services to students in their communities. 💡 Training Success: Our recent training session focused on equipping the NJ4S Hub with the tools and knowledge needed to implement our Good Grief Groups Curriculum. These peer support groups offer a Tier 2 intervention, providing students with a space to navigate their grief and reduce isolation. Why This Partnership Matters: Enhanced Reach: By partnering with NJ4S, we can extend our services to schools and students we might not reach on our own. Empowered Organizations: Training local hubs means more professionals are equipped to support the emotional well-being of students. Community Impact: Together, we are building a network of support that strengthens our communities and ensures no student has to grieve alone. Thank you to the NJ4S Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Hub for partnering with us and helping amplify our impact. Together, we are making a difference! 👉 For more information on how to bring these free services to your school, visit https://ow.ly/aZ2b50StYVe #Grief #GriefSupport #GoodGriefNJ #NJ4S #YouthWellness #MentalHealth #CommunitySupport #GriefSupport #FreeServices #StudentSupport #HunterdonCounty #SomersetCounty #WarrenCounty

How Small Acts of Support Create Big Change “Think small actions don’t matter? Here’s why they do—and how they create massive impact.” At Big Little JC Association, we’ve seen firsthand how even the smallest acts of kindness can transform lives. Small actions like sponsoring a therapy session or providing educational tools may seem simple, but to a child with disabilities, they can mean the world. These contributions: ↳ Unlock opportunities for growth and learning. ↳ Provide access to vital therapies that foster independence. ↳ Bring hope to families navigating challenging times. Your support doesn’t have to be big to make a big difference. No matter how small, every action is a step toward building a more inclusive and supportive world. 💡 Want to make an impact? Mark your calendars for April 5th, 2025, and join us at our charity golf tournament! It’s not just a game—it’s a chance to create life-changing opportunities for children with disabilities. Visit www.biglittlejc.org to learn more about how you can participate and help us continue creating big change through small acts of support. Together, we’re driving impact, one small step—and one swing—at a time. #SmallActsBigImpact #BigLittleJC #SupportChildren #GolfForGood #MakingADifference
