Each August's first week is a 'World Breastfeeding Week'. This year's theme was 💫“Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all”💫 emphasizing the need to improve breastfeeding support as a critical action for reducing health inequity and protecting the rights of mothers and babies to survive and thrive. "When mothers receive the support they need to breastfeed their babies, everyone benefits. Improving breastfeeding rates could save over 820 000 children’s lives each year, according to the latest available data." World Health Organization & UNICEF "Yet, despite its uncountable benefits, many mothers face challenges when it comes to breastfeeding, particularly in #PublicSettings. The discomfort often stems from a lack of appropriate clothing, which can make the experience more stressful than it should be. Understanding this need, Kosmotive has taken a step forward by designing the #KadablahCollection, featuring the #IsaroBreastfeedingDress. This dress is crafted to offer both style and functionality, allowing mothers to breastfeed comfortably and confidently wherever they are. At Kosmotive, we believe that no mother should have to choose between feeding her child and feeling comfortable in her own skin. The Isaro Breastfeeding Dress is just one way we’re supporting mothers in their breastfeeding journey. Together, let's close the gap and ensure all mothers have the support they need to thrive📢💝✊ Check it out for your loved ones here https://lnkd.in/dwtT3PVp

Two elements that prevent women from breastfeeding as long as they intend to: unsupportive work environments and a lack of family support. In fact, breastfeeding is a family affair. It requires coordination, patience, and encouragement. Let's kick off Father's Day Weekend by highlighting some of the biggest support partners in a mother's breastfeeding journey: Dads! Dads show their support by researching breastfeeding basics, attending breastfeeding classes, taking care of baby, attending to housework, and letting mom rest. Comment additional ways your partner supports you below! #Motherhood #AeroflowBreastpumps #Parenting

A mother exclusively breastfeeding can spend 40 hours/week feeding their baby! One of the greatest tools for breastfeeding mothers is family support. There are many time-intensive elements of caring for a newborn. Supporting moms and new parents by being aware of how they need to invest their time and helping save them time by covering other needs can make all the difference in a mother's breastfeeding journey. Family support can take many different forms. A loved one that understands the benefits of breastfeeding is more likely to be supportive of mom by taking time to bond with baby in other ways: such as diaper changes, bath time, bed time. Siblings, cousins, and parents may prepare meals for a new mother as an indirect way to provide comfort and community and reduce the amount of external factors the new mother needs to worry about. Helping with housework and spending time babysitting are also great ways to indirectly support breastfeeding mothers. So today let’s discuss about something super interesting the - policies & attitudes that value women and breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is a beautiful way to nourish our babies, something that should be supported and encouraged by everyone. But sadly, not all policies and attitudes reflect that. Some workplaces don't provide adequate support for breastfeeding moms, making it difficult for them. That's why it's so important for companies to have policies in place that support this. Providing designated pumping areas, flexible break times, etc can make a world of difference. So let's all do our part to advocate for policies and attitudes that value women and breastfeeding. Because when we value women and breastfeeding, we're not just supporting moms - we're supporting families, communities, and society as a whole. And that's something worth celebrating.

🌸 Breastfeeding Awareness Month: Support Matters 🌸 I refuse to stand by when new moms are struggling and stressed with breastfeeding without the proper support. For many, the early days of motherhood can be filled with joy, but also with overwhelming challenges. And when breastfeeding becomes a source of stress rather than a bonding experience, it's often because the right guidance isn't available. As a Breastfeeding Support Coach and former IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), I’ve spent over two decades helping mothers navigate this journey. Proper support can turn frustration into confidence. That’s why I offer more than just breastfeeding advice—I provide actionable solutions: 🌟 "Overcoming Breastfeeding Overwhelm": A 7-day digital course, a blueprint for success to help new moms overcome the stress of breastfeeding. 🌟 "Serene Breastfeeding": A 3-month program designed to offer ongoing individualized support, so moms feel confident, calmer, and connected throughout their breastfeeding journey. This Breastfeeding Awareness Month, lets help new mom feel less isolated. Let’s stand together, offering knowledge, compassion, and encouragement. Because when a mom is supported, both she and her baby thrive. 🤱💪 #BreastfeedingSupport #NewMoms #BreastfeedingJourney #LactationConsultant #EmpoweredMothers #OvercomingOverwhelm #SereneBreastfeeding

Meet one of our keynote speakers, Dr. Kathleen Kendall-Tackett! Here's a sneak peek of this can't miss keynote! "Previous research revealed numerous barriers to breastfeeding. However, recent research has revealed that some barriers come in the guise of “help.” This session is based on new research in my book, Breastfeeding Doesn’t Need to Suck and identifies how mothers’ thoughts can undermine their breastfeeding efforts. It also addresses social support: when it helps and when it becomes a barrier. This session describes effective support from partners, grandmothers, community groups, and healthcare providers. The final section covers a topic we do not like to think about: when breastfeeding fails. However, lactation consultants can support women through this difficult transition as well. Attendees will learn how to address these hidden barriers and how to help women heal from breastfeeding grief and form a secure attachment with their infants."
