Last night a 22 year old scored the winning goal in Portugal's Euro 2024 game against the Czech Republic, taking the baton from #Ronaldo who is in his sixth European Championship. This shows the importance of succession planning in all walks of life from football to inheritance tax! …Proper planning helps ensure that a significant portion of an individual’s estate can be passed on to their heirs rather than being consumed by taxes. Inheritance tax rates can be high, so effective planning can save a substantial amount of money. For business owners, succession planning is crucial to ensure smooth transition of ownership and operations without disrupting the business’s functionality or value. Fail to plan, plan to fail. 👋 For an informal chat about how Sovereign Corporate & Trustee Services (SCATS) can help call 01244 901350 / ukcorporate@sovereigngroup.com, or message us directly. https://lnkd.in/eQ6k5des #successionplanning #ronaldo #tng #IHTplanning #taxplanning

England vs Spain - winner takes home an additional €8m (£6.88m). 2 weeks ago the Euros sadly came to an end, leaving all of us in England devastated… But it has to be handed to Spain, being the only team to have won 4 European Championships 👏 But if I’m being honest, that was the least interesting thing to me about this win… What interested me, was the massive prizes the teams were walking away with. → The total prize money for the Euro 2024 was €331m (£285). However, that amount would be split amongst the 24 participating teams. Meaning each team was handed €9.25m (£7.95m) regardless of how far they went in the competition. So, once all the games were complete, we were left with the final game ⤵️ → Which left Spain walking away with a total of €24.27m (£20.41m) of that €331m (£285). This means the UEFA Nations League will now be paying Spain and 24 other countries very large sums of money… So what is the best way they can handle these payments? → Working with a foreign exchange provider. ✅ Who specialises in large transfers. ✅ Who offers a superior service. ✅ Who are secure and reliable. By using an FX specialist the clubs can cut out the worries of navigating regulations and ensuring accurate and secure payments for all 24 transactions… Instead they could receive major benefits from their transfers. From the level of efficiency and reliability a provider offers, all the way down to a robust risk management strategy ensuring security on all fronts. By leveraging a company like Central FX to help with international payment needs… You can expect to achieve better financial outcomes, save on costs and have peace of mind knowing that your transactions are being handled efficiently and securely.

In June 2024, UEFA adopted its Authorisation Rules governing international football and futsal club competitions, thus responding to the European Court's ruling in the Super League case. The Authorisation Rules lay down conditions for the authorisation by UEFA of alternative club competitions. Noteworthy is the fact that the Rules provide for mandatory arbitration before the Court of Arbitration for Sport ("CAS") to resolve any disagreement but offer the option for an appellant to select Dublin, Ireland as an alternative seat for CAS arbitration, thus enabling potential review of CAS awards by an EU based court, with the possibility of making a preliminary reference to the Court of Justice of the EU ("CJEU"). https://ow.ly/kPtK50TJveY #whitecase

🎾🌏🇲🇨 I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and to Monaco for Tax Residency Purposes Here’s the list of the top male tennis players who reside in Monaco for tax purposes, based on public reporting. 🇮🇹Sinner (1) 🇩🇪Zverev (2) 🏳️Medvedev (5) 🇷🇸Djokovic (7) 🇦🇺De Minaur (8) 🇧🇬Dimitrov (10) 🇬🇷Tsitsipas (11) 🇩🇰Rune (13) 🇵🇱Hurkacz* (18) If any of the female players do live in Monaco, it is very difficult to find. Maybe 🇬🇷 Sakkari (31), but that’s about it! 💰 Forbes estimates that Djokovic earned US$25 million off-court (sponsorship and endorsements) last year. Unlike prizemoney, it isn’t taxed in tournament countries. Whether it is tax free or not would depend on what it is paid for, where the activities occurred, whether the contracting party is Novak or a controlled company or trust, etc etc - but it is not taxed in Monaco. 🎰 Fun fact - Monaco stopped imposing income tax in 1869 because it could afford to do so based on the revenue generated by the Monte-Carlo casino! More tomorrow on the tax residency of some Australian tennis players, both past (Rafter, Hewitt) and present (De Minaur, Kyrgios). * Flag switcheroo by going from 🇵🇱Poland to 🇲🇨Monaco. #taxlaw #incometax #internationaltax #monaco #tennis
