Each year, Bay Nature Institute, our region’s leading nature publication, honors the best in the conservation field with their Local Heroes Awards. As the bilingual youth programs manager at Sonoma Land Trust, Mirella has a rare talent for bridging diverse cultures through conservation, mentoring and inspiring the next generation in science, and empowering people from all backgrounds to connect with and protect the natural world.
