Great day of collaboration, conversation and workshopping at the recent Government 'Funding the Future: The Cost of Education' event, led by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. Wonderful to have stakeholder representatives from Government, the NAO (Apprenticeship Ireland), SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna), Higher Education Authority, Further Education and Training (FET) partners, Technological Higher Education Association (THEA), Minister James Lawless TD:; and AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation in attendance, where #GenerationApprenticeship apprentices and #learners across #FET and #HE were given a platform to share their experience of learning and the financial challenges learners face. A great day or workshopping had to understand and identify potential measures that can help to support many times of learners and address financial barriers to education. Well done to all #students and #apprentices who shared their journey.
Minister James Lawless hosted a Cost of Education event to hear from students and stakeholder groups on the financial challenges facing learners and potential measures to address them.
