A wonderful Pannel discussion lead by Alan Rawlinson including Julie Britee, Les Maitland, Sarah Reid and Diane McRae. Covering topics to include Challenges faced in 2024, turnaround times, sustainability, hot destinations, and the new visitor levy. Patrick Lamont from VisitScotland introduced the Business Events Monitor. A VisitScotland survey open to all MICE related venues and suppliers in Scotland to raise awareness at a national level of the importance of BE sector and provide valuable key data which we have never had before. City Business Events and Convention Lead, Kathryn McAleese spoke about the convention bureau’s position within the council and their desire to learn from and work together with the MICE industry.
