𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 Think chip production is precise? 🤯 We're tackling thermal deformations for the Einstein Telescope, Europe's most advanced observatory for gravitational waves, where design precisions require you to learn the prefix zepto - a millionth of a femtometer. The press release (read it here: https://lnkd.in/eXrPkmXy) unveiled what we have already started working on: the future of metrology. Using digital twins and Bayesian optimization will allow us - in close collaboration with Nikhef (National Institute for Subatomic Physics) - to design the control algorithms that will help unveil the secrets of black holes. Sioux is part of the Thermal Deformations Consortium within the Einstein Telescope valorization programme, that will design measurement and control systems to correct for the thermal deformations in ET’s mirrors, necessary to reach the extreme precision required. ---- #EinsteinTelescope #Metrology #PrecisionEngineering #BlackHoles #Nikhef #SiouxTechnologies #webringhightechtolife #zepto
