On Saturday 1 March it was World Seagrass Day. 🌿🌊 Seagrass meadows are unsung heroes in our fight against climate change. These ecosystems can capture carbon up to 35 times faster than tropical rainforests, making them vital for reducing greenhouse gases and fighting global warming. By trapping and storing carbon dioxide, seagrasses play a big role in "blue carbon" storage, helping to keep our planet healthy. We're helping to restore seagrass meadows in Italy through ISPRA’s Marine Ecosystem Restoration project. Along with CGR Compagnia Generale Ripreseaeree, PlanBlue, and EOMAP (a Fugro company), we're working on the mapping part of this important project. Our advanced technology and teamwork let us map and monitor these vital habitats with great accuracy, which helps us plan effective restoration and support long-term conservation.
