An endo cyst can be challenging… At a recent talk I was asked: “How do you deal with the adhesions?” My answer had a few key principles of uniportal: 1-Rigid curved instruments are great dissection 2-Sharply removing layers can be safer 3-If the dura pulls, stop pulling 4-Repeat with small moves 5-Practice patience! 6-Enjoy the view! In this video you can see this giant cyst compressing half the thecal sac. We used a contralateral approach which offered us the best view! #synovialcyst #degenerativedisease #sciatica

In our recent (and upcoming) papers we show that solvent swollen films of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) exhibit large amounts of telephone cord blister formation. The width of the blisters is set by the elastocapillary length and the sinusoidal length scale is set by a buckling instability. Both are shown to be thickness dependent ( see https://lnkd.in/gupz9Wu3). A non monotonic thickness and solvent dependent blister growth speed is observed. We identify a critical length scale for interfacial crack formation that is set largely by adhesive interactions.
