No reason to celebrate an abject failure to tackle the most urgent issue of our time in my opinion. 18,000 homes when we know it’s closer to 150,000 annually needed. This budget lacked both vision and commitment.

When are the other professional representative bodies working in the housing sector ever going to abandon the overused to the point of meaningless term, of so called ‘affordable housing’ and replace it as Shelter does with ‘social housing’ as their first and most pressing priority ?

Overseas, new rooftop homes are being built above existing social and affordable housing and on council-owned properties, delivering much-needed homes where needed most. 🏗️🏡
