Can tourism combine protection of the environment and benefit to local communities? We acknowledge that a shift to conscious and sustainable tourism is needed, but… ❓ What is Sustainable Tourism? Let us think of three aspects: 🌿 the environment, 📈 the economy and 🎭 culture. Motivated to strike the right balance of their effects on these key aspects, touristic activities can be designed in a way that ensures their harmonious implementation in the long run, thus being sustainable. Inversely, Sustainable tourism can be a vehicle for raising awareness to protect local culture, take care of the environment and benefit local economies, by fostering positive behaviour of travellers. #TOURISMO acknowledges that a shift to conscious and sustainable tourism requires innovative approaches, participation of various ecosystem stakeholders, an improvement of the tourist experience & a stronger engagement of end users. And this is part of our mission; to provide insights to support this tourism model. ➡ What’s related? #TOURISMO #InterregEuroMED #SustainableTourism #Overtourism #Innovation #TourismManagement #Mediterranean #AdvancedTechnologies Interreg Euro-MED Programme Sustainable Tourism ⏩ Who we are: Development Agency of South Aegean Region -READ S.A.
