If you’ve been around the mining industry for more than 5 minutes, you’re familiar with the term ‘shutdown’. But did you know we have our own form of maintenance shutdowns? Our most recent shutdown was on 20-22 March, where we close an entire section (or multiple sections) of the rail network, to allow for maintenance and upgrades that are tricky with trains operating. 🤓 👷 🚧 During this time, Abbot Point Operations also implements a shutdown period as no trains on the network = no in-loading, and more time to do maintenance.
