We are closely monitoring the impact of a strong earthquake which struck #Myanmar on Friday 28th March. The earthquake was felt across major cities like Yangon, Mandalay and towns in Magway, Sagaing, and Shan with tremors causing destruction in Thailand and felt elsewhere in the region. ➡️ While the extent of the earthquake damage is still unclear, we know children are the most vulnerable following a disaster. ➡️ Our teams are moving quickly to check all our staff are safe, and to respond to the emergency. We have been working in Myanmar since 1995, providing life-saving healthcare, food and nutrition, education and child protection programme.
Our hearts go out to the people of Myanmar, especially the children who bear the greatest burden in times of crisis. Gratitude to Save the Children and all responders working tirelessly to bring hope and relief. Humanity shines brightest in moments of adversity - let’s stand together. #MyanmarEarthquake #HopeInAction #StrongerTogether
