Thrilled to share that I've completed my internship at Daijiworld Media, Udupi as a Marketer!
This internship was a transformative experience that taught me the ropes of marketing and beyond. Under the guidance of our manager, I had the opportunity to observe the inner workings of a TV channel and website, and provide feedback on my observations.
My responsibilities evolved over time, from collecting ads from friends and family to understanding the marketing process, to working on a live event at the Sri Amratheshwari Halavu Makkala Taayi Temple. Our task was to collect contact information from local businesses, which took us on a journey from Bramhavar to Kundapura.
However, our manager soon informed us that the team was facing a shortage of editors, and we were tasked with finding new talent. This experience taught me the challenges of recruitment and the importance of effective communication.
Undeterred by these challenges, I shifted my focus to collecting contact information for the website from newspaper ads related to jobs and properties. This involved making calls to potential clients and understanding their needs and concerns.
Through this process, I learned valuable lessons about the importance of highlighting our unique benefits and values, rather than comparing ourselves to other media outlets. I also gained insight into customer psychology, with many clients expressing interest in our services if they were free or discounted.
Overall, my internship at Daijiworld Media was an incredible learning experience that taught me the importance of adaptability, effective communication, and creative problem-solving. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a talented team and look forward to applying these skills in my future endeavors.

Meet Suhani Bhandari ~ Our Marketing Intern.
A total natural in front of the camera, you’ve probably spotted her all over our social posts and reels. When she’s not busy tracking people down for product testing and feedback, you’ll likely catch her nose-deep in a book.
She just wrapped up her internship with us, and we’ll definitely miss her calm, composed presence at the Arata HQ.
Her go-to quote is:
"You like 'because' and love 'despite'. You like someone because of all their qualities, and you love someone despite some of their qualities."
Swipe to meet our (former) sarvagun sampan intern, Suhani!

I recently came across a LinkedIn post by Dearisa Heditama about unpaid internships, and it really struck a chord with me. In this day and age, the concept of unpaid internships seems not just outdated, but frankly, unethical.
Let's be real: unpaid internships are often just a clever ploy by companies to get free labor. Every journey requires effort and involves risks, especially for young professionals starting their careers. It's high time we recognize the value that interns bring to the table, regardless of their "intern" status.
To all the fresh graduates and students out there: you deserve compensation for your time, skills, and dedication. Even if it's just enough to cover your commute, that's a start. The real treasure of an internship lies in the knowledge and experience you gain – that's what will help you determine your worth in the job market down the line.
And to the companies still clinging to the unpaid internship model: it's time for a reality check. If you can't afford to pay even a modest stipend to your interns, perhaps it's time to reassess your business model.
Unpaid internships are, simply put, inhumane and illogical. Everyone's contributions deserve recognition and compensation, whether they're fresh graduates, final-year students, or anyone in between. Let's build a work culture that values and respects all contributors, regardless of their experience level.
It's time we put an end to this exploitative practice and start treating interns with the respect and dignity they deserve. After all, today's interns are tomorrow's industry leaders.
