Local. Vital. Trusted. This was my fourth State Leadership Conference and Call on Congress alongside the National Association of Broadcasters. In such a divisive and turbulent time, to be among broadcasters across the country is always a reminder of the power of local journalism and how broadcasting remains the heartbeat of local communities. Our Tennessee delegation is strong and I am so proud to be among them. So appreciative to Christopher Baker and team for organizing. Shoutout to our legislators for making time for us and the issues most important to us and our future. An added bonus this year was bumping into Thom Benson of the Tennessee Aquarium in the halls of Congress and seeing longtime friend to Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. and trailblazer Marci Burdick recognized for the incredible ways she has impacted our industry and inspired those of us who have come behind her.
