This new track station is important for us here in South Jordan because it's going to allow folks to come and visit the new urban center, come to the ballpark at America First Square to cheer for the bees, come catch dinner, a movie, go shopping. In addition to all of our residents that this helps get faster access to transit to head downtown or wherever they're going. But we really think this is going to be a key element of helping folks come here and making it very easy. This is a walkable community with great transit so that people can leave their car at home, they can bring their stroller, they can ride a scooter, and they can just walk through the trails and the many offerings we have here. And so we want everyone to feel like they're welcome and that they don't need to bring a car. This station was accelerated on a 10 year plan. And so it's here just in time for opening day. And we think this is a place that everyone from all four corners of Utah will enjoy. It's fan first, like fan experience 1st and we want to make sure that obviously they come out here to enjoy baseball game, but they also want to just be a part of. That's happening out here in general. Another thing that's been top of mind is just the traffic and everything that happens to be able to experience being out here. And so UTI's been a phenomenal partner in making sure that happens to get this station opened on this day, prepping for the development as a whole. The data is very clear that for every $1.00 spent on transit, $5.11 returns back into the local economy. That's a big deal as we work to try to keep taxes low and strengthen our economic base here in South Jordan. This is a good way to do that. If we can make it very easy to come here, people will come. They'll catch a game, they'll have dinner, they'll catch a movie. There's so many exciting things that will happen here, and it does strengthen the economy. The legislature has prioritized investment in transit over the last few years. And we are going to see a significant return to the state and to our local communities as a result.
The little bee is so cute!... I can not wait until UTA can build a cross trax subway going from West to East, the West side is unattended and it is the side that need the most to bring development and jobs and will help to decrease vehicles traffic that is polluting the environment and will help to decongest the area!!!!...... 🖐 💡 🤳
