When we launched SensoryCalm three years ago, many questioned if proper neuroinclusion could be profitable. This year proved them wrong: • 9,000+ visitors supported through supervised spaces • £200,000 revenue generated • 9.5/10 customer satisfaction score • 97 net promoter score from visitors • Silver at MIT Awards 2024 for Best Diversity & Inclusion But the real impact? Watching event organisers move from treating neuroinclusion as a checkbox to understanding it as essential infrastructure. 🥴 what an AWFUL behaviour from one event org team here in Germany. Not calling out names publicly, but check this out: Session submitted, session rejected - happens very often, easy mode, right? Except… Afterwards only 1/2 of the team, (male, maybe it matters, maybe not?) is asked TWICE to join as guest as it would the org team would be “very happy to have you there”. Do you all think this is okay? It feels disrespectful and disheartening to see being excluded from presenting but then only one person from team being asked to add their reputation and visibility to the event! I can only hope for reflection on how speaker selections and subsequent requests are handled in the future by conf organisers, as mutual respect is critical and foundational to trust and goodwill in our community and encourage event organizers to implement respectful processes ensuring all contributors feel valued and included in the community.
