INSIDE OUT AND INSIDE IN | When you incorporate elements of style into your design plan, the connection between the interior and exterior goes beyond simply placing doors where they’re most needed or positioning windows for the best views. If your architecture is formal, it’s likely that both your landscape and interiors will reflect that formality. Conversely, if you live in a cottage, your gardens and interiors will probably have a more relaxed, casual vibe. If your landscape includes distinct garden rooms, you'll want them thoughtfully designed to be appreciated from both inside the home and while strolling the grounds. Your interior design can also take cues from the surrounding environment. For example, a home near the sea might inspire beach-themed decor, while a woodland setting might call for rustic touches. Similarly, a home in a gated community with manicured grounds might lean towards modernist or traditional furnishings. SEAMLESS ELEGANCE – FURNITURE AND FLOORING MADE FROM THE SAME MATERIAL Limiting yourself to a few, carefully selected materials not only ensures visual continuity that brings tranquility to the space but also creates a very natural living atmosphere. The wood grain created by nature provides coziness and, when viewed mindfully, becomes a unique work of art that exists only once in the world. Rooms are also perceived as more spacious and open when the same wood continues seamlessly across all living levels. The possibilities are endless: natural wood planks as flooring, ceiling, or wall, or, as seen here: a wardrobe in the bedroom made of grey oiled Oak Country. This interior showcases a bathroom designed with a natural and earthy aesthetic, exuding a sense of tranquility and luxury. The walls and surfaces are made from textured, warm-toned materials that resemble clay or sandstone, creating an organic, cave-like ambiance. A circular skylight above the shower allows natural light to cascade down like a spotlight, enhancing the shower area’s sculptural, earthy texture. The open glass enclosure separates the shower space without disrupting the openness of the design. The minimalist fixtures and decor, such as the floating sink, round mirrors, and strategically placed candles, contribute to a serene, spa-like atmosphere. The large window offers a view of nature, adding to the sense of peace and connection with the outdoors. Overall, this space is a perfect blend of natural elements and modern luxury.
