Happy Television Day! 📺 Here are some TV management tips to create balance and harmony for the family: Set Viewing Limits Establish screen time rules to ensure TV doesn’t dominate family time. Create a Family TV Schedule Plan what to watch together to avoid disagreements and promote shared experiences. Designate a Screen-Free Zone Keep bedrooms and dining areas TV-free to encourage quality family interactions. Choose Age-Appropriate Content Opt for shows and movies that are suitable for all family members. Incorporate Active Breaks Encourage breaks during long viewing sessions for stretching or engaging in other activities. Encourage Discussions Talk about what you’ve watched together to connect and share your thoughts. Set Parental Controls Use parental controls to block inappropriate content and monitor viewing habits. Lead by Example Show healthy TV habits by limiting your own screen time as a parent. Balance with Other Activities Prioritize outdoor play, hobbies, and reading over excessive TV time. Keep the Remote Accessible but Managed Teach kids how to use the remote responsibly without excessive flipping between channels. AT&T Cable TV As I settled in on Saturday evening to watch the USC/LSU game which I recorded, which I do this time of the year so I can fast forward through all the political adds, I received the following message on the TV screen. “Our contract with Disney, the owner of this channel, has expired.” Hard to believe that any Company, other than a cable company, does business this way, but they do, and when I say “they” I mean all cable companies. Customer Servise only applies to people who have questions that need an answer. To be proactive and have your contracts negotiated before they expire is sensible for most businesses, but not the cable industry. This is why, not to far into the future, they will be gone because although they are in the service industry they do not see themselves in that manner. They hope by letting contracts expire they can use their customer base as leverage with the owner/owners of the channel. Streaming never looked so good. Look for the channel to be down for several weeks and they when the contract is finally negotiated be prepared for the cost of service to rise. It has been a good ride for cable companies for years, but as I have already stated the ride is almost over. Be patient my cable watchers and in the meantime go to Hulu and stream around the incompetent AT&T cable company. The contract has expired, we appreciate your patience while we negotiate to offer you greater flexibility, choice and value. In other words, higher costs for a service for which you are paying but not receiving. What a joke!!

Good Afternoon & Happy NATIONAL RADIO DAY! Recognizing the great invention of the radio. Celebrate the news, information, music, and stories carried across the airwaves. Who invented the radio? Amazingly, not just one person can be credited with its beginning. Instead, each component developed through invention and discovery. As these technologies converged, the radio came to life. The first person to identify radio waves was a German physicist Heinrich Hertz in 1886. But it took about three decades for a practical receiver to be invented, which was due to the work of Italian inventor, Gulielmo Marconi. In the early 1900s, radio began its commercial use and about 20 years later it became so popular that people were scrambling to buy radios to put into their homes. The 1920s brought the first broadcast stations to the forefront. Around the world, listeners tuned in for news and world events for the first time. Other radio facts include: Radio ownership grew. In 1931, two out of five homes owned a radio. By 1938, four out of five owned a radio.  Then in 1984 WZEW 92ZEW 92.1FM Radio began broadcasting in Mobile, Alabama becoming the absolute BEST radio station in the world along with their brother station WNSP Sports Radio 105.5FM as the first 24 hour Sports Radio Station in the country.
