Did you know just one in six SMEs in Japan are using AI right now? To better understand AI adoption among small and medium sized enterprises, Rocketed worked with Edelman Data and Intelligence to survey 300 SME business owners across Japan. The results reveal a surprising gap in AI awareness and a massive opportunity for growth. While the service industry leads with 21% adoption, the majority of Japanese SME's are still on the side. In fact, 41% of non users struggle to identify how AI can be applied to their businesses. The survey also highlights key barriers to adoption, including high implementation cost, concerns about ROI, and lack of technical expertise. These challenges are what's preventing many Japanese SME from maximizing AI's full potential. For the few SME's that are already using AI, it's mostly applied to operational tasks like automating. Processes. But here's the opportunity. A I can do so much more, especially in areas like customer engagement and personalized experiences.
