Your brand is like an orchestra. The logo may be the violin, but it’s the harmony of all the elements: your messaging, visuals, tone, and values that create the real magic. But what’s the secret? They all need to work together in perfect balance. When you’re creating your graphics in Canva, take a step back. Ask yourself: 😳 Does the font choice match the mood of your message? 🫂 Are the colours telling the story you want your audience to feel? ☄️ Is there enough white space for your content to breathe? It’s never about perfection … it’s about creating a symphony that resonates. You’ve got this. Keep playing your tune.

One is none, and two is one. Whenever possible, you should have a backup for key parts of your show or presentation. Also, your presentation was designed and put together on your computer or device it's more likely to work correctly on that device. When you load it onto a new computer there is a small chance that you might loose an asset, video, font or layout from when you designed it. #AVSystem #AVTroubleshooting #AVProblems #AudioEngineer #AVConsulting #AudioVisual #ProAV #AVIntegration #LiveSound #ChurchSound

I get it, dear creative dudes and gals, it looks like we can't seem to swim out of the ever/flowing "must submit ASAP" post-its. We are expected to be magicians within the shining LED world. Moving objects around to please and sell. It seems like we could use the ability to stretch seconds into minutes (As if we haven't tried!). So, here's a 'gentle reminder', if you don't already do this, you need to use that 'God-Speed' and your 'out-of-thin-air-heavenly downloads' for your own long term ideas. Even if it's just one paragraph of text or the edit of a single photo, it's a good start. Do your thing.

📽️ This week I wanted to showcase a small project I worked on earlier this week which was to make a lyric video in less than an hour. 🎬 I really wanted to edit some sort of music/lyric video so I set my self a small brief which was to take existing footage from a music artist and turn it into something new. I chose to edit Bon Iver’s new song Speyside from their latest EP call Sable. I noticed they edited a music and lyric video but I couldn’t help but think that the lyric video was lacklustre. It was just black and white footage of the ocean. Then I went to the music video and saw they had this long shot of Justin Vernon singing the song. I instantly thought “why didn’t they just have him sing the whole song and use that as a lyric video?”. So I decided to do that with the footage I could get from the music video and turn it into a small snippet of how I would have done the lyric video. I took the shot, found the fonts, edited the captions, added a film matte and super 16 overlay, and turned the frame rate down to 12.5. FPS and in just over the time frame I set out, had a new take on their lyric video. Let me know your thought in the comments, it was a fun and short project that I would love to do again! - #throwbackthursday #photoshop #graphicdesign #design #illustration #socialmedia #motiongraphics #videoediting #branding #designthinking #boniver #speyside #sable

I don’t really care what colour anything is https://ismy.blue. I care that you don’t just impose a particular colour name and description. Does it matter what colour it is as long as it’s perceivable and usable? Personal perception should stay personal and not be turned into a personal error by design. This is from a Colour Blindness perspective of 'don’t tell people what green and red are' unless there is some actual essential informational need to. Let people perceive and differentiate colours as they can thru their perceptions. For example, if the interaction is about Stop and Go then say that (button titling is always core accessibility) and people will attach their own perception of red or green. Don't tell them what you define and name as red or green as it may end up confusing rather than clarifying the situation. Don’t error state being human.
