Tip of the Day: Community Collaboration Opens Opportunities. 📢 Have you ever hesitated to ask for help or support in your local community groups? Don't underestimate the power of reaching out! Here's a recent example from our journey: 🗣️ We recently posted a shout-out in our local community groups about our upcoming D-Day event. Little did we know, this simple act would open doors to incredible opportunities! One member suggested joining a 1940s themed event Facebook group, which led to a cascade of connections and possibilities. 💡 Key Lesson: When you engage with your community, you tap into a wealth of resources, ideas, and networks you never knew existed. By sharing our event plans, I have not only gained interest from fellow residents eager to participate but also received valuable suggestions that has improved our event experience. 🎉 The Result: Thanks to our community outreach, our event is evolving into something beyond our initial vision. We're now welcoming residents eager to share their stories, artefacts, and historical insights, turning our event into a memorable touch-and-tell experience. 🚪 Ready to Take the Next Step? If you're unsure where to start or what to ask for, I'm here to help. We can work together to turn your ideas into reality and create something truly special for your community. #CommunityEngagement #Collaboration #EventPlanning #Opportunities #LocalGroups #CommunitySupport #Community #Growth

The Joys of Building Community Through Events There’s something magical about watching an event come to life, the laughter, the connections, the shared moments that leave people with memories they’ll cherish forever. As someone who loves creating events for my community, I find immense joy in seeing those smiles and hearing those stories. But behind the scenes, it’s a rollercoaster of challenges. Every successful event has its fair share of hurdles, unexpected "fires" to put out, last-minute changes, and keeping everything aligned with the budget. It's not always glamorous, but that's where I thrive. I love the thrill of problem-solving under pressure, of turning chaos into calm and making it all look seamless from the outside. It’s about blending creativity, organization, and adaptability to craft something beautiful for others. When it all comes together, I feel a deep sense of pride. It’s not just about the event itself, it’s about the journey to get there. The behind-the-scenes team effort, the quick decisions, and the small wins along the way. Here’s to building community, one event at a time.

As we approach the holidays, my husband and I enjoy looking at all the community events happening around us. We try to attend at least one each weekend—not only to support local businesses but to make new connections and engage with the people who make our community special. Today's lesson from 52 Lessons from It’s a Wonderful Life by Bob Welch really resonates with this idea: Lesson 13: Find Your Own Bedford Falls Wherever You Live In Bedford Falls, the town in It’s a Wonderful Life, there’s a shared history and pride—a collective concern for both the place and the people. It’s easy to see why that kind of community feels so special. It’s a big part of what makes Hallmark movies so successful; almost every one of them creates its own version of Bedford Falls. But today, with remote work, online shopping, and delivery services, it can be easy to feel disconnected from the place we live. It’s more convenient than ever to stay in our own bubble, but the truth is, the opportunities to connect with our communities are still out there—we just have to be intentional about seeking them. So, I ask: What community event could you attend this season? Or, even better, what event could you organize with your work team to help support and connect with the people in your version of Bedford Falls? Let's make an effort to support that sense of belonging and pride, both as individuals and as businesses. After all, the heart of any community are the people who choose to be a part of it. 💗

Stick to the ABCs of community building at your next event! A: Aim for Partnership - Get everyone involved from the start. Invite others to step up, initiate, share their talents and abilities. They are not "attendees" but rather your partners in the success of the event. B: Bolster Relationships - Create spaces that encourage new relationships and celebrate every voice. Work on deepening existing relationships and providing opportunities for new ones. Remember that we might come for the "what", but we stay for the "who"! C: Cultivate Identity and Continuity - Embed your unique organizational culture into the event, use the event as an opportunity to strengthen a sense of pride and set the stage for future gatherings. Let’s design events that make a difference! Join us and make every event a milestone. Photo Credit: Emily Ranquist #vardainstitute #communitybuilding

Struggling to build a strong community for your business? Remember building a community on social media isn't just about followers, it's about fostering connections, sparking conversations, and creating a space where everyone feels valued and heard. 🌟 Building a strong community involves several key steps: ✨ Engagement: Actively engage with community members through events, social media, and local gatherings. Show genuine interest in their needs, concerns, and interests. ✨ Provide value-added resources: Offer valuable resources, such as guides, tutorials, and exclusive discounts, to your community members. Providing tangible benefits reinforces their loyalty and encourages continued engagement. ✨Network strategically during the summer: Take advantage of summer events, such as outdoor festivals, networking mixers, and community gatherings, to expand your social circle and forge new connections. 🥹Hosting events is incredible, but it can also be isolating if no one around you understands your drive, ambition, and desire to build something big. ❤️In Experiences, you’re not just joining a program—you’re joining a powerful community of event hosts who share your goals. 🔥We’re all about raising each other up, sharing stages, collaborating, and connecting. These are people who get it, who’ll cheer you on, and who’ll support you every step of the way. 😩If there is one thing I have missed out on it’s having a support system of people who “get it”. ❌There isn’t a community anywhere specifically for us crazy people hosting events. 🙌So, I have created it, and I want you to join me and get the support you need. 👏🏻If you’re ready to stop going it alone and finally be surrounded by others who share your drive, this is the space for you. 🥂And as a thank you, you will also: 💫 Be invited to the Speakers Dinner at PeakeFest. 💫 Event Launch Bundle worth £500 If you’re working towards getting your passion project off the ground next year, then you want to be with me and this community xxx https://lnkd.in/eezkZ-9c

I'm honored to have recently participated in a round table lunch with Chairman Oliver Gilbert ('cause when you got friends in places, things happen). When invited to such a table, it's crucial to make your voice heard. I took this opportunity to advocate for the event community. Too often, events are the last to receive consideration but the first to be cut. However, their impact is undeniable: -Events bring people together, fostering community bonds -They generate millions in revenue for municipalities -Events play a vital role in sustaining small businesses -Events are essential for company and brand growth, offering unique opportunities for networking, lead generation, and brand exposure -They create opportunities for underserved communities, promoting inclusion and representation -Events drive innovation and knowledge sharing across industries -They serve as powerful platforms for cultural expression and preservation Importantly, events can be transformative for underserved communities, providing opportunities for representation, economic growth, and cultural celebration that might otherwise be overlooked. Let's recognize the true value of events in our communities and economies, and ensure they reflect the diversity of the populations they serve. #EventIndustry #CommunityBuilding #EconomicImpact

We talk about events being ‘third places’, spaces and activities that build connection and community. A pretty good perk of the events side of our business is seeing the conversations and connections that happen at events. It’s also why we like teaming up with some great brands and destinations in our marketing and advisory work. Building and extending the conversations and adding real value to people in their experiences at events and locations with some great partners makes that third place even better. It’s the three C’s really. Community, collaboration and connection. In whatever order it happens, it gives us a great sense of purpose and impact.
