Aldi's is doubling down to put more savings into shoppers' wallets by reducing costs on over 250 popular food products. I see that their French macarons are on this list, which is one of my favorite items. I'm also a big fan of their focaccia breads. What are your favorite foods from ALDI USA? This is just as the Wall Street Journal reported that "Foot traffic at Aldi stores in March was up about 26% compared with the prior year." (see the press release with some specific foods at: https://lnkd.in/gqu28rtr ). https://lnkd.in/gniNxutW #budgeting #financialplanning #groceries #consumerspending #consumersentiment

Unit prices are those smaller prices on the price tag that let you compare products per unit of measure – such as per 100g. Supermarkets must now show them in-store, including on items that are on special, but have another whole year before they have to show them online. We checked in with Foodstuffs – the owner of New World and Pak’nSave supermarkets – and Woolworths this week to see if they thought they’d meet the deadline. Foodstuffs said there had been extensive training across its stores to meet the requirements. “Compliance is a top priority for us and, while it’s a complex task with over 60,000 items on our shelves, we’re dedicated to ensuring everything is up to standard.” Woolworths said not only was it able to meet today’s deadline to show unit prices in-store, but it was on track to display unit prices online from September. "Fresh Quality Produce is still a major factor when choosing your main store!" The ACCC surveyed shoppers as part of its Supermarket Inquiry and quality of produce ranked number four as a reason for determining your main store to shop.( see chart below) So from the survey one could assume if a retailer provided a fresh quality produce offer that was value priced and with a wide range to suit local area then that retailer could enjoy favourable patronage/strong sales growth. How interesting, because thats exactly would we set out to do in Woolworths back in 1987 when we launched the Fresh Food People campaign. . #AustralianSupermarkets #Shoppersurvey #QualityProduceImportance #ProduceTopFourfactor #HistoricalBenchmarkforSuccess
