The Prudence Trust is excited to announce the launch of another open funding opportunity. This funding is to support ‘drop-in’ early support hubs for young people aged 11-25. The opportunity is open to UK registered charities or CICs, with an annual income of at least £1 million and at least 3 years experience delivering a drop-in hub. These types of hub offer many kinds of service under one roof, without the need for referrals. To be eligible for this opportunity hubs must offer at least one kind of mental health service. In this first stage we are seeking brief applications through our website until Monday 9th September at 2pm. You can read more about the opportunity and sign up to our webinar here: https://lnkd.in/eXhBY2JG

New research conducted by Dalhousie University, found that the mental health of staff supporting women experiencing violence suffered during the pandemic due to increased demand and the need to adapt service delivery in response to public health mandates. Workers also reported vicarious trauma, anxiety and depression during this time. Do you donate to causes you believe in? I know donations are not realistic for everyone, but for many of us we can make the math work. If you’re in a position where you’re financially secure, I encourage you to consider giving back. For those fortunate enough to be able to donate, consider the impact of sharing 0.5% or 1% of your income. 💵 If you make $75k/year, that's $375 or $750 a year. 💵 If you make $100k/year, that's $500 or $1000 a year. 💵 If you make $150k/year, that's $750 or $1500 a year. 💵 If you make $200k/year, that's $1000 or $2000 a year. I would love to imagine a world where everyone gives even as little as half of one percent of their income. Imagine the good we could offer not-for-profit organizations with this kind of money! Fundraising is a lifeline for many human service orgs like Karis Community- a long term residential community for individuals living with serious mental illness. It's worth taking a pause as we head into giving season to think about how much of an impact a contribution can make for programs and causes you believe in. Donating isn’t just about the money—it’s an opportunity to align your values with action and to support the causes that resonate most deeply with you. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, take a peek at Karis. Their work is close to my heart, and every dollar truly counts. 💙 https://lnkd.in/gCn3j_Td #mentalhealth #donation #coloradogivesday

How much does a telephone call to a lonely person cost? We are taking part in the Big Give #Kind2Mind campaign which means if we can raise £5,000 it will be matched, pound for pound. £10,000 will make an enormous difference to us as we’re currently fundraising to keep our Buddy and Befriending project going so we can carry on providing weekly phone called to over 360 lonely and socially isolated people, some of whom don’t hear from anyone else between phone calls. The government published a ‘Loneliness Monetisation Report’ in June 2020, which estimates that the wellbeing cost of moderate to severe loneliness is equivalent to £9,537 per person per year. Therefore: - £21 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide four friendly phone calls to a lonely or isolated older person. - £250 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to a lonely or socially isolated person for a year. - £750 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to around six lonely or isolated older people for six months. - £1,500 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to around six lonely or isolated older people for a year. We need your help to carry on making these phone calls. Please donate via the link below to help us combat loneliness in our community. To raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association - New Brunswick Division, I am taking on the challenge of completing 2,000 push-ups in 18 days. Please support me as I #pushforbetter from February 11-28. 💪 As a member of the McInnes Cooper team, I am proud to be part of a firm that is supporting this initiative. The 2022 national study of the legal profession indicates that legal professionals experience significantly higher levels of psychological distress (57.5% compared to 40%) and anxiety (35.7% compared to 13%) than the general Canadian working population. Nearly one in four legal professionals experience suicidal thoughts, and alarmingly, only one out of three legal professionals who experience suicidal thoughts seek help after recognizing their need for it. All proceeds help the Canadian Mental Health Association to support mental illness recovery and foster positive mental health in Canada, for all Canadians, no matter the profession. Please consider donating through my page where the funds will be allocated to the CMHA New Brunswick Division and target our local community. 💗

🎄 This Christmas, let’s make a difference together 🎄 I know the festive season can be a financial burden in itself, but I’ve seen first hand the incredible impact that Beyond Youth Mental Health Charity has on young people and their mental well-being. Growing up in today’s world—with the pressures of social media, mobile phones, and constant connectivity—is harder than ever. Our children need mental health support both in and out of school, and that’s exactly what Beyond provides. Beyond helps schools and communities access the vital resources, programs, and guidance to ensure no young person feels alone in their struggles. They’re creating a world where asking for help isn’t a weakness but a strength—and I’d love for you to join me in supporting their mission. If you’re able to, please consider donating or spreading the word about the life-changing work Beyond is doing. Every little helps in giving our children the future they deserve. Together, we can help make a real difference. 💙 #MentalHealthMatters #SupportBeyond #YouthWellbeing #GivingBack Youth mental health charity @wearebey0nd have launched their @biggiveorg Christmas Campaign, "I Wish You Knew"! With a target of £40,000, funds raised will provide vital access to mental health support in schools. Please donate now - https://lnkd.in/gAzfRfks and share this post with your networks. Let’s help them reach their target to support some of the hundreds of thousands of young people who urgently need access to mental health support. There is an critical gap between students' mental health needs and the resources available to teachers to support them. There are so many worthy causes but with no Government funding, Beyond depends entirely on individual generosity. Beyond directly helps young people when they need it most and is the only charity in the UK that gets bespoke mental health support into schools. 🔗 Spread the Word: Share this post and tag your contacts Thank you.
