Onx Homes, innovative homebuilder developing more than 3,000 sustainable and resilient homes, announced a transformative expansion with the launch of eight new communities across South Florida, Central Florida, and Texas. This strategic growth represents a significant milestone in the company's mission to revolutionize residential development in some of the fastest growing and most climate-challenged housing markets in the United States. The expansion plans will be supported by a new factory in Texas. "Our extensive market expansion is more than just adding new developments—it reflects a strategic response to the evolving housing landscape," said Ash Bhardwaj, Chief Executive Officer of Onx Homes. "As demand grows for disaster-resilient homes, we're not just building houses. We're creating resilient living environments that address the complex challenges of climate change, housing affordability, and community sustainability. These eight new communities represent our commitment to providing innovative housing solutions in markets experiencing significant demographic and environmental shifts." Now Florida is an interesting market. As its hot for most of the year a pool, however modest, is a most welcome feature. And as mosquitos abound, a pool covered with a 'bug cage' is likewise most welcome. I'm designing such a home based on Frank Lloyd Wrights Usonian concept, a concept eminently suited to precast construction, and of course Wright in his own way was a precast pioneer. The massive Ennis house in L A was built with precast concrete block. This design takes ONX bath pod concept to the limit. It combines kitchen, laundry, hot water tank, HVAC, and two full baths into a common core. In my view, ONX's revolutionary precast modular housing concept is best rolled out paired with a complementary new paradigm for the suburban subdivision itself. It is a 'synergy' between building innovation and grounds innovation which will bring suburban domestic architecture into a new age, undreamt of by its predecessors.
