Newspapers, magazines, TV and radio remain the backbone of the media world, although it’s hard not to see the media landscape is changing rapidly. Most publications have embraced the online space, blurring the line between print and digital media, and social media remains a huge driving force in getting your brand in the public eye. But new technologies and innovations like AI are now coming into the fore, keeping the media – and PR agencies – on their toes. On the latest episode of Transforming the Trades, I sit down with Heather Ripley of Ripley PR to discuss how public relations (PR) can boost your trade business. PR can enhance your visibility, draw in new customers, and establish your company as a trusted local expert. There's a significant opportunity to attract new talent directly into the trades, especially with fewer Gen Z individuals going to college. PR can help you attract not only customers but also top talent. By sharing relatable stories and showcasing the human side of your business, you can draw in both customers and potential employees. News Direct's upcoming October issue of 'PRevolution' promises insightful discussions on various PR topics. The newsletter will examine a tech company's failed AI-driven PR campaign, offering lessons on potential pitfalls and crisis adaptability. It will also explore hypothetical PR strategies for a centrist independent presidential candidate during election season, aiming to connect with the political middle ground. With the World Series and Election Day coinciding in November, the issue will analyze the intersection of PR in baseball and politics, highlighting top-performing firms in each arena. Additionally, 'PRevolution' will recognize PR agencies that delivered outstanding financial performance in the first half of 2024. https://lnkd.in/gu5rg2fX Good read from Jackson-Spaulding regarding trends affecting public relation. Key takeaways from an hour-long discussion at a partnership meeting of PROI Worldwide on the future of PR, boiled down to five key trends and three guiding principles for coping with each trend. Here’s the gist: · Rhetoric is intensifying and increasingly unrestrained by facts. · Subject-matter expertise is not as trusted as it once was, and is often mistrusted. · Sophisticated and coordinated campaigns of misinformation and disinformation have become the norm. · The rise of AI is adding fuel, accelerating the production of credible-looking but inaccurate content and empowering almost anyone to drive false narratives and content at scale.

Today, I spoke with a coworker about the importance of streamlining dense reports and complex data into language that clearly present the facts in a compelling way. In medtech, where innovation is constant, journalists need clear, no-nonsense details to quickly decide if a story is worth pursuing. Don’t forget, Cision‘s 2024 State of the Media Report found that 68% of journalists still rely on press releases as a key source for content and ideas. 🤯 Long live the press release—just make it clear, concise and maybe skip the 10-page attachment. #pr #publicrelations #medtech #longlivethepressrelease

This is one of the nicest part of the job. Receiving positive feedback from the Journalists who in essence we are all helping. The relationship between a digital pr and the Journalist is symbiotic in nature. A few publishers have tried to break that link in the past but the way the industry is evolving with more chunky, scientific data and creative ideas that Journalists working on their own would rarely be able to produce is only making the link stronger. Fears of Ai somehow effecting this relationship have so far also gone unfulfilled. At the end of the day, creativity, timing and ideation are still the prime drivers of great digital pr campaigns. Something Ai is still very far away from. Here are just two of the recent comments we receive almost daily here at Reboot. We actually have a page on the site dedicated for them! (link in the normal place) Well done to the whole team. So nice to see a positive, friendly and respectful interaction between Digital PRs and Journalists. #digitalpr #pr #coverage #linkbuilding
