🚨 Why is this even necessary? 🚨 It’s a disgrace that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has to issue a Field Guide to Government Shutdowns—a stark reminder of just how broken Washington has become. #Veterans, who answered the call to serve and protect this nation, now need a roadmap to navigate which of their benefits will survive Congress’ petty partisan games. Let’s be clear: This is not governance; it’s neglect. When members of Congress prioritize politics over people and party loyalty over patriotism, the very citizens who’ve sacrificed the most pay the price. Veterans don’t have the luxury of “pausing” their needs during a shutdown. They can’t press pause on their healthcare, their benefits, or the support systems that keep them afloat. This image shouldn’t exist. This reality shouldn’t exist. To those in Congress who have made brinkmanship and dysfunction your legacy: Do your job or step aside for leaders who will prioritize country over party and service over self-interest. Our veterans deserve better. We all deserve better.
