The Dayton Public Schools (DPS) Student Senate recently visited Miami Valley Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where they learned valuable baby care skills from occupational therapist Allison Jordan. The DPS Student Senate is made up of dedicated junior and senior student leaders selected by DPS administrators to represent their schools. These high-achieving students are given extraordinary opportunities each year to enhance their academic growth and prepare for their future in college. The “DPS Premier Health Speaker Series” is held monthly at different Premier Health or community locations and introduces the students to leaders from across our system. The speaker series inspires DPS students to explore the vast array of careers available in health care.
