PotentialU’s Post

PotentialU reposted this

A client recently asked how we achieved a 90% engagement rate from frontline teams using our app—many of whom had never used AI before. Instead of focusing on the technology itself, I thought about the principles and lessons that shaped our approach. These insights, combined with our work at PotentialU and the latest research, shaped '10 Lessons for AI and Leadership Development'—a framework to help leaders embrace AI to build more adaptive, people-centered workplaces. At PotentialU, we've been working with clients to navigate AI adoption in leadership development—especially for frontline leaders. Through these partnerships, we see firsthand how AI is reshaping learning, decision-making, and leadership growth. 🚀 Now, I'd love to hear from you. How do you see AI shaping leadership? What strategies have helped you or your teams successfully integrate AI into leadership and learning? 📌 I'm also sharing a carousel deck with key takeaways—let me know what resonates! A huge thanks for feedback on earlier drafts goes to Kenneth DiPietro, Jonathan Trevor, Franziska Manck, Stephan Meier, Nigel Guenole, PhD, David Timis, Dan Perez, and of course my PotentialU colleagues, Chet Kuchinad and Stefanie Stanislawski. 🔍 If you're interested in AI, leadership, and the future of work, I highly recommend following these brilliant minds shaping the conversation: 📢 Ethan Mollick – Making AI accessible for leadership and learning 📢 Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic – The intersection of AI, talent, and leadership 📢 Vivienne Ming – AI-driven human potential and inclusion 📢 Justin Blake & Justin Westcott (Edelman) – AI, trust, and leadership reputation 📢 Reece Akhtar (Deeper Signals) – AI-powered psychometrics and self-awareness 📢 Timnit Gebru – Ethical AI and its impact on leadership 📢 Rana el Kaliouby, Ph.D. – Emotional AI and the future of human-machine collaboration 📢 Fei-Fei Li (World Labs) – AI, innovation, and responsible leadership 📢 Rachel Botsman – Trust and decision-making in the AI era 📢 Dan Turchin (PeopleReign) – Future of work & AI technology that puts people first These are the voices shaping the future—who else should we be listening to? Love this! 90% engagement from frontline teams? That’s not about AI—it’s about understanding people. Totally agree: tech is just the tool, the magic is in how we apply it. At PotentialU, we’re seeing firsthand how AI isn’t just a tool—it’s reshaping how leaders learn, grow, and lead with more agility

Brilliant, thanks for sharing!

What an inspiring post! The approach you’ve outlined highlights a crucial aspect of AI adoption—it's not just about the technology, but the people and principles behind it. It’s amazing how AI is transforming leadership development, particularly for frontline leaders, where engagement and adaptation are key. I completely agree with the idea of building more adaptive, people-centered workplaces. AI has the potential to be a powerful tool for not only enhancing decision-making but also fostering personal growth and self-awareness among leaders. I’ve seen firsthand how integrating AI into leadership training can help leaders navigate complex challenges and support their teams more effectively. In terms of strategies, I’ve found that creating clear, actionable frameworks—like the one you’ve shared—along with continuous learning opportunities for teams, is crucial in driving successful AI adoption. Having a supportive network and resources for leaders to feel comfortable with AI tools makes a world of difference. Looking forward to diving deeper into the insights in the carousel deck. Would love to hear how you’re planning to expand on AI’s role in fostering leadership trust and emotional intelligence in the future of work. 🚀

Interesting insights on AI and leadership - I recently came across Niels Van Quaquebeke’s recent work that explores AI's dual role in leadership—both as a replacement and as an augmentation tool.

My take away from it is that focusing on principles over technology is a bit like focusing on values over tactics when coaching. what do you think?

Excellent insights on the transformative power of AI in leadership! Particularly struck by the notion that true competitive advantage in the AI era isn't solely about technology—it's about empowering people to collaborate effectively with AI. As highlighted, while AI can enhance our self-awareness and performance, genuine empathy, trust, and human-centric leadership remain irreplaceable. I am a heavy user of AI but already struggling to use it with my team and inspire my team. Thanks for this important nudge Bidjan Nashat
