ACHIEVING 0.17 CoF FOR CHALLENGING PLUG DRILL OUT The Problem: Cleaning out 60 plugs and reaching a 6,700 TD in a 3-degree toe-up wellbore with a maximum DLS of 11 degrees/30m. According to the Coiled Tubing company’s simulation, a Coefficient of Friction (CoF) of 0.18 or lower was needed to reach TD. The Solution: Proshale’s engineering team proposed using an innovative ERT in Argentina, the Wafevorce, paired with a TRX motor and a STEGO multi-cycle valve, all prepared for a BHT of 350 degrees F. The Result: Proshale’s BHA successfully reached TD as planned despite encountering excessive debris in the return, which required two short trips through the STEGO multi-cycle valve. Proshale’s Extended Reach Tool achieved a CoF of 0.17, surpassing the client’s expectations. This achievement enabled the Coiled Tubing company to start pumping metal-on-metal Friction Reducer (FR) from 6,000 meters onward.
