I had so much fun at the Labor Day Lift Off event in Colorado Springs with my wife and two youngest kids. Labor Day Lift Off is a beloved tradition here in Colorado Springs. It happens every Labor Day weekend, and each year it gets better and better. It’s completely free and around 70 hot air balloons launch each year. Families are welcome to walk among the balloons as they’re being inflated. There was plenty of entertainment for the kids, and some of the balloons were “kissing” the surface of the beautiful Prospect Lake. It was quite a sight to see these majestic balloons almost dip their toes into the lake as if they were playfully teasing the water. But it wasn’t just the balloons that made the day special. As I looked around, I saw the kind of community spirit that you don’t always find in everyday life. Families, friends, and even complete strangers came together to share this unforgettable experience. Everyone was in high spirits, eager to snap photos, and excited as each balloon took off. There’s something profoundly humbling about watching these enormous and colorful orbs defy gravity. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best things in life are the simplest: good company, a little bit of wonder, and the chance to take a well-deserved break from the usual hustle and bustle. We can all take a cue from these hot air balloons. They’re all about rising above, enjoying the moment, and appreciating the ride. Whether you're taking on a new case or just navigating through daily challenges, remember to lift off with a sense of adventure and optimism. After all, even when you’re not sure where you’re headed, it’s always worth enjoying the view along the way. So here’s to the Labor Day Lift Off and all the little moments that remind us to appreciate the beauty in our everyday lives.
