gratitude tips for the workplace 📊 Payscale surveyed 500,000 employees and found that “An employee feeling appreciated or unappreciated moves the needle on job satisfaction more than any other variable.” ➡️ Creating a workplace culture where gratitude naturally thrives is far more impactful than doling out corporate employee recognition awards a couple times a year. (Do employees really need another mug with the company logo on it?) 💡 Here’s an idea of what you can do instead: Create a program where employees recognize and thank each other. This can be very inexpensive and is a great way to engage employees in building a positive culture and stronger cross-departmental relationships. My company gave each employee (2) $5 gift cards to pass onto anyone in the company they wanted to thank throughout the year. Employees created the guidelines for the program, and it was a smashing success. 👥 And an added perk? Gratitude is contagious and benefits the giver and the receiver. #leadership #management #gratitude #leadershipmatters #workculture #workplace

The Power of Silent Appreciation in the Workplace Fostering a positive work environment and boosting morale through employee appreciation is essential. Sometimes, verbal recognition may not be the most suitable approach. Here are ideas for silent appreciation within an organization: - Public recognition boards: Showcase employee achievements or milestones on a bulletin board or digital display to acknowledge their contributions publicly. - Team-based rewards: Celebrate team accomplishments with rewards benefiting everyone, from catered lunches to additional paid time off. - Offer flexible work arrangements: Demonstrate trust and appreciation by providing flexible work schedules or remote work options, enabling a better work-life balance. - Small gifts or treats: Brighten someone's day with a small gift or treat on their desk, such as a personalized gift card, favorite candy, or a plant for their workspace. - Nominations for internal awards: Encourage internal recognition through anonymous nominations for colleagues, allowing employees to appreciate each other's contributions. What do you think are other ways for appreciation? #silentrecognition #employeeappreciation #workplaceculture #moraleboosters #teamappreciation

Recognising and Rewarding Individual and Team Achievements We all work for a living, but a paycheck alone isn't enough to keep a team motivated and engaged in the long run. High-performing teams thrive on recognition and appreciation for their contributions. The Power of Recognition A simple "thank you" can go a long way. Recognising individual and team achievements shows your team members that their hard work is valued. It boosts morale, fosters a sense of accomplishment, and motivates them to excel further. Moving Beyond the Trophy While a pat on the back is nice, consider a multi-faceted approach to recognition and reward: 🎁 Public Recognition: Highlight individual and team achievements in team meetings, company newsletters, or social media posts. 🎁Peer-to-Peer Recognition: Encourage team members to acknowledge each other's contributions. This creates a supportive and collaborative environment. 🎁Performance-Based Rewards: Consider implementing a system that rewards exceeding goals or reaching milestones. This can be financial bonuses, additional paid time off, or other tangible rewards. 🎁Personalised Recognition: Tailor your recognition to individual preferences. Some may appreciate public praise, while others might prefer a handwritten note or additional responsibility on a project. Fuelling the Engine of Achievement Effective recognition isn't just about celebrating success; it's about fuelling future achievements. By acknowledging contributions, both big and small, you show your team their work matters. This keeps them engaged, motivated, and striving for excellence. Get creative with your recognition strategies! Consider team-building activities, gift cards, or flexible work arrangements to show your appreciation. #motivation #recognition #teamappreciation #HR #peopleexperience #symphonnisays
