Thank you Irene Kaggwa for the moderation and this fantastic summary. Thank you too to Francesca Bosco, Anwar Mahfoudh and Ashutosh Chadha for the exchange. I cannot agree more of the importance and the urgency of tackling the way we can "responsibly" use AI. Enthusiasm: yes. Accountability: yes 💯 #DoNoDigitalHarm

Telecommunications Engineer keen on Strategic Leadership & ICT development

One of the hottest topics across the world today is Artificial Intelligence (A.I). Last week, I had the great honour of moderating a panel on "Data, AI and Human Rights: Frameworks and use cases for responsible deployment in global contexts" as a side event by OHCHR as a side event during the 28th UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development event. The panel of Anwar Mahfoudh Ashutosh Chadha Francesca Bosco and Philippe Stoll provided us with enriching insights on: 1. the journey and experience in using AI within international organisations (OHCHR & ICRC), 2. opportunities and challenges in AI design, development and deployment. This included the evolving nature of cyber and other threats. 3. different stakeholders do have a role in ensuring AI principles (fairness, reliability & safety, privacy & security, inclusiveness, transparency, accountability), including private sector. This, noting that 2.4Bn people are still offline with no access to the Internet. 4. the importance of data availability that is not limited in context 5. Collaboration is key 6. a need to ensure human-controlled tech development Thank you to the organisers and the powerful panel
