I recently had the incredible opportunity to discuss building new supply chains between Trinidad and The Bahamas with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association. One thing that has always impressed me about Trinidad is the wealth of locally manufactured products filling their store shelves—a powerful example of self-sufficiency and regional pride. In the Caribbean, regional trade is not just about economic growth but also about bolstering our food security. Expanding the reach of Trinidad’s locally made products throughout the region, and creating pathways for Bahamian products to reach new Caribbean markets, is a vision I am deeply passionate about. Together, we can make these homegrown goods more accessible across the islands, providing high-quality options for consumers and supporting local businesses.
