Where are you on a comfort level of being able to say “no”? ⚖️ If we look at a quick scale with 1 being that you can’t do it/never do it and 10 is that you have mastered saying no - where do you sit on this scale? 🗯️What is this telling you? What will you do? 😧Saying “no” is a common subject raised in my coaching practice and it requires accountability. Today has even been proclaimed as Tom Brady Day throughout the Commonwealth! There are so many key values and lessons we can learn from his remarkable career: Resilience and Perseverance: Brady’s journey wasn’t always smooth. He faced setbacks, including being drafted late in the sixth round. Yet, he persisted, worked hard, and became a legend. His resilience teaches us that setbacks don’t define us; our response does. Consistency and Longevity: Brady’s career spanned 23 seasons, marked by consistent excellence. He never had a “bad” season, defying the usual decline seen in athletes. His longevity reminds us that sustained effort and discipline lead to greatness. Teamwork and Leadership: Brady’s leadership on and off the field was crucial. He motivated teammates, built strong connections, and led by example. His success wasn’t just individual; it was a team effort. We learn that leadership is about lifting others up. Family Support: Brady often credits his family for their unwavering support. Their presence at games and celebrations showed the importance of a strong support system. Family provides grounding, love, and perspective during challenging times. He was also supported by many mentors along the way. Legacy and Impact: Brady’s legacy extends beyond records. Goodbye 2024, welcome to 2025! Black Footballers Partnership data shows that there is a significant drop off in opportunities off the pitch which lets down black players and in our view feeds the abusive mindset of some fans. If black footballers see it, they can be it - managers, coaches and owners. If fans see it, they will embrace it. For generations of black players this has not been the case which perhaps explains why these traumatic events are on repeat cycle.
