Babcock Ranch, often hailed as America's first sustainable town, is leading the way in hurricane preparedness. After withstanding two major hurricanes, including the devastating Hurricane Ian in 2022 and Hurricane Milton just last week, it's clear that thoughtful planning, sustainability, and reliable storm protection systems are essential in both new and existing developments. For builders and developers, incorporating hurricane protection - whether through impact windows, doors, shutters or screens - is no longer just a feature, but a necessity. Florida's future depends on it. With the help of All-American Shutters & Glass from Levinson Built, let's work together to ensure the safety and resilience of all properties and the families they hold. #HurricaneProtection #Sustainability #Construction

As we celebrate the start of summer, it is also time to prepare for hurricane season. While we are hopeful that the storms pass Southwest Florida, it is important to prepare for the worst. I am encouraging our community to organize and ensure the safety of important records and documents while assembling your disaster supplies and working on your evacuation plans. If you are new to the area, FloridaDisaster.org provides valuable checklists for you to prepare. Read more in the Clerk's Report. #TheClerksReport #ClerkCrystalKinzel #ClerksNewsletter

It's the middle of hurricane season which means I need to write my annual update on the Florida Hurricane Cat Fund and whether it can survive another year. Even with no storms last year, the outlook is sobering. The only way FHCF can remain viable is if there are no storms for a long time. Of course, if there are no storms for a long time, then the insurers didn't need FHCF cover, so it is quite a paradox! If you need it, FHCF cover may not be there for you. If you don't need it, there is a chance it may be there in the future. That's quite the sales pitch! Today's post is part I of II. Yes, there is so much to cover I had to split it up. https://lnkd.in/gSKW3JMp
