We’re excited to announce that the James Cowper Kreston Foundation is supporting Adventure Plus by funding the purchase of two Infento kits. Infento is an innovative company that creates kits allowing children and adults to build fully functional, constructible rides together. The kits will provide opportunities for young people to develop important skills in critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. The Foundation’s next funding round is scheduled to open this Winter, so make sure to visit their website for updates by clicking here 👉 https://lnkd.in/euaDVMSj #adventureplus #funding #charity #foundation #jckfoundation #maximiseyourpotential
In October, Bernice Flack, a member of our Foundation, met with Jon Cox, Founder and Director and Wayne Solomon, Instructor, along with the rest of the Adventure Plus team. Adventure Plus has been a leader in providing quality adventure experiences to children for over 30 years. Founded in 1990 by Jon and Tessa Cox, Adventure Plus offers adventure holidays, school residential programmes, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, team-building events and a variety of other inspiring activities for young people and adults throughout Oxfordshire and across the UK. The mission of Adventure Plus is to help children and young people reach their potential, make positive life choices and enjoy enriching experiences in the great outdoors. A specialised unit of Adventure Plus, known as Adventure Impact (AIm), works with children who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Young people are referred individually by schools, social services, or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and organisations supporting young people with learning disabilities and childhood trauma. Our grant will enable Adventure Plus to purchase two Infento kits, one Legend kit and one Genius kit, for use with all AIm participants. Infento is the first in the world to create a kit that enables children and adults to work together to build real constructible rides and provide opportunities for young people to develop important skills in critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. For more information about Adventure Plus and ways to support, visit their website here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eKhZQpEa #jckfoundation #adventureplus #infento #grantfunding #charity

Watch the success story of Pooria!
https://lnkd.in/dzVf4U-q Please watch Pooria, a greatly talented student who was once sponsored and is now a great teacher, sponsoring new children. This illustrates the impact of your support: over the past 30 years, you've shared your commitment, love, and support with more than tens of thousands of children. This is our achievement. Please join this circle of kindness and help create thousands more success stories like Pooria's!

Hi everyone Do you want to support PTTR Ltd? Did you know that we receive no government funding - either federal or state? Philanthropic grants and donations are our primary means of support. :) So here are 3 ways you can help make sure we can keep on supporting over 100 PTTR communities across Australia! 1) Make a personal donation through our Justgiving page. They will provide you with a tax receipt, or follow the link on our website. www.paintthetownread.info 2) If your organisation would like to make a donation, contact me at bb@paintthetownread.info, and I can issue you an invoice and/or tax receipt. 3) Buy a ticket/s in the 2024 People First Community Lottery with the total value of your lottery ticket/s coming to Paint the Town Read! We just need to sell the tickets. Tickets are only $2 each and you go into the draw for a chance to win one of 52 prizes worth over $300,000. The lottery is funded and run by People’ First. They invited us to join the Lottery. It would be great if everyone could help us raise money this year, by buying tickets and/ or spreading the word amongst family & friends. How to buy tickets? Head to https://lnkd.in/gsbK9BHr, find Paint the Town Read and click buy tickets. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include WA…probably because WA already has the terrific LotteryWest, which has funded PTTR events in the past in WA. So WA folk, ignore this request, and focus instead on the other 3 ideas above. :) To slightly change one of our PTTR rhymes: Giving is fun - from Day 1 Did you hear what I said? Paint the Town REaD!

With a horrible predictability, it's Challenge Poverty Week. Like many, I've reviewed the latest (2024) Joseph Rowntree Poverty in Scotland report and it makes for a sobering (depressing?) read: the number of people living in very deep poverty has risen to 40% of all of those in poverty. With many #grantmakers across the UK, the #HymansRobertsonFoundation continues to focus our effort and funding to support #charities across the UK that make a positive difference to the lives of #youngpeople and #communities. We've continued to fund the Foundation's Bursary: a direct grant, delivered by our #charitynetwork, to young people who just need a little bit of funding to help them change or lead their lives with #dignity. If you want to hear more about the Foundation (or think you can financially support the Bursary) please head over to https://lnkd.in/eXiqCQbb. Read the JRF report here https://lnkd.in/enBSskpB Finally, thanks to the non profit sector that continue to support children, young people and families living in poverty.
