Chronic musculoskeletal pain is complex, often studied separately by neuroscience, physical therapy, orthopedics, and rheumatology. Each field focuses on different aspects: neural effects, behavior, tissue structure, and inflammation. To truly understand this pain, we need cross-disciplinary research that bridges these gaps. Jean-Pierre Barral's Manual Therapies are key in this context. By integrating brain function with the rest of the body, his techniques promote a "whole person" approach offering a comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal pain. 🌐 In 2012, a novel PROM called Patients' Joint Perception (PJP) was introduced for arthroplasty patients. PJP is a simple, single-item measure to assess patients' views of their joints compared to a natural joint. Our recent study validates PJP as a reliable tool for evaluating patient outcomes after ACL reconstruction. Its simplicity and effectiveness make it a valuable measure for assessing ACLR outcomes. We thank the prestigious KSSTA Journal, one of the top ten orthopedic journals, for publishing our work. Link: https://lnkd.in/eEwyiZZZ

📢 Popular Article of Issue 5 💡 Share Your Insights with Us! 📚 Role and effectiveness of surface EMG feedback in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation: a systematic review ✒ Authors: Thomas Haab, Peter Leinen, Paul Burkey 🔗 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gc2gGUHh 📑 PDF: https://lnkd.in/gr3a6rpR 🌟 This review suggests that EMG FB training can be effective to enhance muscle strength, muscle control, pain reduction, functionality, and joint range of motion. The studies provide evidence for the varying impacts of EMG FB training, demonstrating both significant and non-significant outcomes across different populations and intervention types. These differences within the findings not only highlight the potential of EMG FB, but also emphasize the need for further research to identify the conditions and populations in which EMG FB is most effective. #AcademicPublishing, #EMDJournal, #EMG, #OrthopedicRehabilitation
