Giving your team more autonomy can have a significant impact and your company's overall culture. When teams have more autonomy, leaders can focus on strategic planning and addressing broader company needs instead of micromanaging. Workplaces that prioritize autonomy often see improved employee retention rates as employees feel valued and can achieve a better work-life balance. Ensure providing employees with the necessary tools and resources. Along with autonomy comes the responsibility and accountability to ensure success. My first Internship project focused on Role Accountability and Measurement at every level, which I referred to as RAM. To effectively increase autonomy, it is crucial to provide frequent opportunities for employees to make independent decisions, coupled with constructive feedback and recognition of achievements. When cultivating young talent, investing in the development of trainees and entry-level employees can help create strong future leader- "Catch them young." The synergy between experienced employees and new talent can foster innovation and collaboration, creating a powerful combination. Leading by example is key, showing that the organization believes in the team more than the individual leader.
