On The Tools’ Post

It's no secret that the skills shortage crisis in the construction industry is significantly worsening. Construction Market Outlook report suggests that 225,000 more construction workers will be needed by 2027 to meet demand levels for the upcoming pipeline. The demand for recruiting new skilled workers and improving skilled worker retention is becoming ever more apparent. According to On The Tools research, a staggering 47% of employers who currently employ or have formerly employed apprentices have encountered challenges in recruiting skilled workers, 48% also struggled with retaining skilled workers. Currently, a large proportion of current and former apprentices believed that one factor that would have improved their experience was more hands-on work.
