A new bread boss. A tour of Italy delivered to your doorstep and proved that googly eyes can make just about anything cuter. Here's a rundown of your top headlines from the restaurant industry in 90 seconds. Paul Carbone is the new CEO of Panera after serving as the interim since January. He was previously the CFO of Panera, and he also has leadership experience on the retail side. Limited time offers, or LTO's, are popping up left and right as restaurants spring clean and spruce up their menu. Restaurant business has a great breakdown of what brands are doing to utilize ingredients in their digital platforms. Testing out a new hot honey sauce and Freddy's has introduced a cold brew caramel crunch. Sounds amazing. Sr. Eating up Olive Garden delivery. They partnered with Uber last month to launch delivery for the first time and they saw immediate results, 20% higher check averages for delivery than pickup. And they've noticed about 40 to 50% of those new guests have never dined with Olive Garden before or done take out. The Dundee award for Best new Restaurant goes to Chili's 20 years after the iconic episode. Of the office, they're opening a location in Scranton, PA. It's a new construction, but it's packed with throwbacks and decor from the iconic TV show. It opens on April 7th. And you know this grant and margaritas are gonna be flowing.
