🌆 By the end of 2027, energy plans will be in place for every city, town, and village across Great Britain. Ofgem has given the green light for the plans to be drawn up for Scotland, Wales and nine regions in England by the independent National Energy System Operator (NESO). 🌍 These Regional Energy Strategic Plans (RESPs) will outline steps to secure energy supply, meet rising electricity demand, and pave a cost-effective path to net zero. They will coordinate local energy expansion, clean power generation, and infrastructure for decarbonising heating, transport, industrial clusters, and hydrogen plants. This integrated approach to national and regional energy planning aims to ensure sufficient network capacity to support decarbonisation and new economic activities like data centres. 🔗 https://ow.ly/jHeV50VsVp7 #EnergyFuture #NetZero #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #GreatBritain

  • QUOTE: "The British energy system is experiencing unprecedented change as it transitions towards net zero. Regional Energy Strategic Plans (RESPs) are a vital part of this change and will ensure local priorities and communities are put first. " - Akshay Kaul, Director General of Infrastructure

"...RESPs are a vital part of this change and will ensure local priorities and communities are put first". This is only achievable by providing enhanced transparency, streamlining coordination, facilitating decentralized energy management, improving regulatory compliance, and bolstering security. Does Ofgem have a trustless network ? A trustless network is a system where participants can interact and transact with each other without needing to know or trust each other, or rely on a central authority or intermediary to facilitate and validate those interactions. The "trust" in the system comes not from individuals or institutions, but from the underlying technology, protocols, and mechanisms that ensure transparency, security, and immutability of data and transactions.
