On April 1, we light state landmarks in teal to mark the start of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We know that a single month isn’t enough to address the significant and widespread problem of sexual assault; however, April holds space for attention, prevention efforts, and survivor support. The 2025 theme "Together We Act, United We Change" highlights the importance of understanding sexual violence, amplifying underserved and underrepresented voices, and fostering collaboration to build safer, more equitable communities. #SAAM25 Follow the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence on social media for tools and resources to help you be an ally this month and all year long: on.ny.gov/opdvsaam Keep up with the Plaza Lighting Calendar and never be left in the dark: on.ny.gov/PlazaLights
